Se7en (1995): Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Envy, Wrath, Pride, Lust. (Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman and Gwyneth Paltrow)

Director David Fincher's signature style was thrillingly put on display in Se7en, or "Seven" (1995). Everything, literally from the opening to the closing credits has his choppy, fast, direct and intense visual touch all over it. The script is genius and expertly written, and holds steady and interesting throughout. The cast is superb: Morgan Freeman is great as always. Brad Pitt really nailed it, in a serious role, in this semi-early stage in his career. Gwyneth Paltrow (who was dating Pitt at the time) is beautiful and believable in a brief, but integral part. Se7en is certainly one of the best films of the 1990's.
Detective Somerset (Morgan Freeman) is ready to retire and hand over the reigns to the new younger Detective Mills (Brad Pitt)...

That is, however, until a serial killer begins a series of gruesome, well-planned murders based on the Seven Deadly Sins...

Meanwhile, Mills' wife (Gwyneth Paltrow) is trying to make the transition to his new job as pleasant as possible...

The murders continue. The killer's intelligence is formidable...

The killer must be stopped. Somerset and Mills must work together to catch him before he completes all seven murders in his series...
